Week Four

How good is your memory?

Verbal memory test

People tend to tell me that I have a good memory. I can remember things from a long time ago. I remember so many things from when I was little...most of them are unnecessary but sometimes important. I thought since I had a pretty good memory i would have done better than I did, but according to my results I remembered less than half.

Number memory test

Remembering numbers in my opinion is much easier than words. I remembered up to eight numbers. Remembering the numbers is easier because you can remember them in sections. Using the chunking method with the numbers makes it much easier, but when you have to start remembering more numbers the chunking is not as easy to use.

Famous Faces Test

I am not as good as remembering faces as I am with names I thought but this test proved me wrong. I got 92% out of 100% which was surprising. The faces were actually pretty hard because most of them did not have hair. You would think that hair does not make much of a difference but it actually does. I am not complaining though because I was only off my 8% so I am good. Also, come of the people they showed I had never even heard of them of them before either so.

Memory Test

I have a great memory. I am of course being biased because I am myself saying this but it is true. The only times I really forget something is if it is not really important to me or something of that sort. Anything important or that I HAVE  to remember will most definitely be remembered and the test results show that. In my opinion I really feel that having a good or somewhat decent memory is essential to our daily lives.

Everyday Objects

Who would have thought that finding which penny was correct would have been so hard? It took me a while to find out which one was correct, but surprisingly I guessed it right. I never observed a penny like that to know which was the right way, but the one I chose happened to be right. I do not feel this had much to do with memory but more with being extremely observant.
